Book Tribe

Group Leader: Raquel Cerveny

Book Tribe is a treasured activity within NFWC that is not a book club. It is a book circle, where participants are in a set tribe and are given the same number of books.  Each month members rotate the book to a pre-designated (always the same) partner. You will receive a book from someone else in your tribe who will always pass only to you. All eight or nine books cycle to each member, and at the end of the cycle you are left with a final book that you own. Essentially you get to read 8 or 9 books for the price of roughly $30. We do not meet to discuss the books until the very end, when in the past, I hosted as a wrap-up party (during pre-Covid days).  We shall see what 202/22 holds for us. All the books are selected by our very own neighborhood treasure, Blue Willow Store Owner Valerie Koehler, with small influence from me.

Pickleball

Group Leader:

The fastest growing sport in America has made its way to the NFC! Played on the tennis court with rackets a little bigger that ping pong paddles, this fun, easy-on-the-knees sport has a group that plays twice a week, usually Tuesday and Friday mornings, depending on court availability.  New: NFWC's portable net will be available for the new lines on the Sport Court soon. Must be an NFC member to book time slots on the courts.
